Scouting The Hague is the regional Scouting organisation for the municipality of The Hague and surrounding areas. We support local Scouting groups, represent their interests and help strengthen Scouting in the region.
Our organisation consists of volunteers who work together to create the best possible conditions for local Scouting groups and their members. We operate as the link between local groups, Scouting Nederland and external partners such as the municipality of The Hague.
What we do as a regional Scouting organisation
As a regional organisation, Scouting The Hague focuses on coordination, support and representation. We do not run weekly Scouting activities ourselves, but we enable and support the local groups that do.
Our main tasks include:
- Supporting and advising local Scouting groups and their boards
- Facilitating cooperation and knowledge sharing between groups
- Organising regional activities, meetings and training sessions
- Representing Scouting groups in contacts with the municipality and other organisations
- Implementing national Scouting policies at a regional level
We aim to create a strong, safe and future-proof Scouting environment for all members in the region.
Support for local Scouting groups
Scouting The Hague actively supports Scouting groups in their day-to-day operations and long-term development. This support is provided in close cooperation with volunteers and group boards.
Support includes, among other things:
- Advice on organisational, administrative and governance matters
- Guidance on volunteer policy and leadership development
- Support with accommodation, outdoor spaces and permits
- Assistance with safety policies, social safety and well-being
- Information and support regarding national Scouting regulations
By offering this support, we help Scouting groups focus on what matters most: providing fun, challenging and meaningful activities for young people.
Training and development
We believe well-trained volunteers are essential for strong Scouting groups. Scouting The Hague supports training and development by:
- Coordinating and promoting Scouting training courses
- Supporting local trainers and training teams
- Encouraging knowledge exchange and best practices between groups
This helps ensure that volunteers feel confident, supported and inspired in their roles.
Activities and cooperation
In addition to our supportive role, Scouting The Hague organises and facilitates regional activities and events. These activities bring Scouting groups together and strengthen cooperation within the region.
Examples include:
- Regional Scouting Competitions
- Berentocht hike
- Jungle-day
- Cooking competitions
- Beaver-day
